So you might be wondering about the title of the blog. Why "Our Golden Ticket"? Well, let me explain.
While getting things ready to pack, we got out our tent that has not been used for probably 17 years. We decided that we would need to set it up and air it out, check for holes, etc. (we are taking the tent for emergency purposes only!) As we got it out of the bag I mentioned to Peter that we would still need to buy a tarp for under the tent. "Yes", he agreed, and we moved on to setting it up. So while looking around trying to decide what to do, I could not think of the word "poles" and said to Peter that we needed the "plastic thing first" . He looked at me for a moment and then spun around on his heels and headed back toward the house. I asked where he was going and he said that he "was going to go get the tarp like I asked". I told him that I did not mean the tarp and that I really meant the poles. Now, I have to explain that under normal circumstances, Peter would have not been a happy man. He would have not gone to get a tarp and would have done some complaining too. I realized at that moment that I was holding a "golden ticket". Because I had agreed to do this trip with him on his terms, I was in for some pampering! I thought about this for a while to think of what I might do with it. But after a few days, I just told him about it and he agreed that was the case. He also felt that he had a "golden ticket" that I was willing to do the trip and that we were able to arrange it. So hence "Our Golden Ticket".......

The first stop at a library on our "Shake-down" trip last weekend. We found that the libraries are a great place to meet for lunch and at the end of the day. They are well marked, have parking and if they are open, nice facilities. This was a nice library with a great children's and youth department.!
